As winter temperatures drop, welding robots and related equipment face increased risks from cold, humidity, and condensation. Proper winter maintenance is essential to ensure reliable operation, prevent malfunctions, and maintain uninterrupted production. Key tips include:
Robot Body: Run the robot at low speed for 5-10 minutes daily to ensure proper lubrication. Keep workshop humidity at or below 60%, regularly inspect cables and hoses for signs of cracks or wear, and perform weekly functional tests under cold conditions.
Positioners: Check hydraulic oil levels and quality, inspect gears, shafts, and bases for deformation and listen for unusual noises, and perform 10-15 minutes of idle running before full operation to reduce cold-start stress.
Welding Machines: Keep the interior clean and free of debris, ensure all electrical connections are secure, and adjust welding parameters to maintain stable arcs and consistent weld quality in low temperatures.
Control Cabinets: Maintain internal temperatures above 5℃, ensure proper ventilation and sealing, and protect cables from rodents or other potential damage.
Consistent winter maintenance not only safeguards equipment performance but also extends service life, helping to ensure smooth and reliable production even during harsh winter conditions.
